After trying my hand at holiday door decor for Halloween, you can bet I was eager for another opportunity to decorate, this time for Christmas! I took inspiration from one of my favorite holiday pastimes, decorating gingerbread houses. How many of you spend time each year with your family customizing a house and decorating it? Kyle and I have made it a tradition to decorate our own unique gingerbread houses each holiday season, and this year I decided to take it a step further by decorating our actual house like one! When we buy supplies for decorating, we always try to be savvy with our funds, so we tend to use cards that give us cash back or shop sales! Nothing beats making money back on what you spend, especially when you have to buy supplies like us during the crazy holiday season! One of my favorite things to do when decorating is figuring out how to re-purpose common objects to meet my goals! We used these jumbo pool noodles and white duct tape together to make adorable giant candy canes, and they were super simple to make. We also bought these PVC pipes and used a red duct tape to give them candy cane striping as well! Another thing I love about holiday decor is the amount of Christmas lights everyone puts up!
