Thousands of Orange Order members, bands and their followers will take to the streets of Glasgow for the biggest parade of the year on Saturday. In total, around are due to take part in the parade with many more people following along the route. Lodges and bands will assemble at their individual start points around the city around 9am and march to join others at four points in the north, south, east and west of the city an hour or so later, before joining up in the city centre with all the parades going as one from George Square to Glasgow Green. In the north, lodges with bands from Barmulloch, Cowcaddens, Possilpark, Springburn and Maryhill, will come together at Corn Street, Cowcaddens at 10am. From the south, the parades will come from Govan, Thornliebank and Pollokshields, meeting at Centre Street, in Tradeston, to leave at 11am. More than 30 road closures will be in place throughout the day between 5am and 4pm to allow the processions to take place. The parades are due to leave Glasgow Green around 2pm and head back to their start points across Glasgow later in the afternoon.
