To be able to start fishing, one only needs to obtain a fishing rod, available exclusively from the Lighthouse Keeper. After either bringing him a small collection of moths to obtain the 'starter' rod or purchasing one of the three he sells, simply approach any of the five fishing spots found throughout the world and cast out a line.
