In addition to masks, the cult is gathering riches to present to Tiamat upon her return. It is this latter goal that drives the cult to raid the town of Greenest, which the player characters just happen to be near. The first episode start assumes that the players are together and outside of town. The adventure even mentions that they may decide to not do so. The Id DM offers advice for how to tie the player characters more closely with the town, ensuring a smoother entry into the story.

Since last time, Mike Shea of SlyFlourish made a compelling argument for having the Half-Dragon Champion mission be the last of the evening. I tend to agree with him, especially since there is a good chance that one of the PCs will be a bit beat up after it and may not be able to participate in any further missions, such as Save the Mill. Also, I've heard that quite a few groups had to take at least one short rest during the night, so allow them to take it if they need it.

This is my interpretation of Greenest Keep based on the images found on d I have furnished every floor to create a fully equipped keep, except for one floor that I have felt blank for customization. Locations found inside the keep include everything you would expect to find! Whilst escorting a wagon train, you happened on an attack on the thriving merchant town of Greenest in the Greenfields. Spot fires were burning, and a huge Blue Dragon launched a swooping assault on a central keep before flying off out of sight. Approaching the town you found it being sacked by a mixture of kobolds, sell-swords, and mysteriously garbed cultists. You were welcomed — and warmly thanked — by Greenest Govenor, Tarbaw Nighthill.
