All of our kittens are born and raised within our purpose-built family home. The house was designed around the cats and boasts its own maternity ward in the nook under the stairs, complete with underfloor heating, dimmable lighting, CCTV and a mezzanine level shelf for mums to hop out of the 'nest', yet still keep a watchful eye on their brood. Entry to the maternity suite is via the 'cat kitchen', a space which allows the kittens to begin to stretch their legs as they grow, whilst providing a utility space with their own dishwasher to keep cat bowls squeaky clean, a fridge freezer to keep the raw food fresh, and plenty of storage. From around six weeks of age, the kittens are moved into the kitten nursery, a space complete with cat trees and climbing furniture to aid their development within a safe environment. Rearing kittens within our family home ensures they are used to children and loud noises such as the hoover; they develop a fondness for being around people right from the start. They receive pl enty of handling by us as well as visitors and are quite the attraction in our small village! This helps them to be adaptable and settle into their forever homes quickly.
