Originally released as a cheaper contender for the sportier s, the GSXF stopped being produced when more modern models came onto the scene. That said, if you can pick one up then you will find it is a consistent and enjoyable ride which, although a little on the heavy side when stationary, handles itself well. Get a bike Quote. At that time, its specification was perfectly acceptable for a performance machine - all-enclosing bodywork, a valve engine and monoshock rear suspension put it on a par with its peer group. Probably the bikes redeeming quality I have an A2 restrictor fitted. The bike featured fluid rounded shapes, with a lower part of the fairing finished in a different color for an eye-pleasing two-tone livery, and the oval white-lens front turn signals were more eloquent than anything. Plenty of torque wherever you go in the rev range but with a stock end can, it does sound pretty wimpy. Like its cc-class sibling, the GSXF Katana received a redesigned rear section for improved aesthetics. Functional and comfortable, it will eat up motorway miles or twisties with ease and can even work as a comuter. The smaller Katana packed less horsepower than its brother but was more than enough for fast highway hauls, aggressive city slicing or carving the twisties, solo or two-up. Cooling System.
