The Nightingale Trinity , usually called simply the Nightingales , are a trio of highly skilled thieves dedicated to the service of Nocturnal. Members are typically chosen from the higher echelons of the Thieves Guild. Although there is no formal association between the two factions and most guild members are unaware of this arrangement, the Trinity is usually very influential on how the guild operates Nightingales even claim to be the source of the guild's phrase "walk with the shadows". Members of the order take the Oath: the Skeleton Key must remain at the Twilight Sepulcher , the Temple of Nocturnal, which must be protected from all threats, even in death, until Nocturnal accepts the spirit of a Nightingale into the Evergloam , her plane of Oblivion. In return, Nightingales use the abilities granted to them for whatever they see fit to do in life.

Guild Nightbirds are some of the best electric guitars every produced at the Westerly Guild plant. I own more than my fair share of them, and since I have a pile of Nightbird reviews pending I thought I would consolidate some of the repeating information I had into a single article. Having gone through this pain myself and having collected a fair bit of information, I have put it all into a hopefully easy to digest article that should help you if you find yourself considering the purchase of one of these fine instruments. The primary way to identify one of the first series of Nightbirds is the fact that they have fat slotted diamond inlays and the truss rod cover says Nightbird GG with the GG in script. GG stands for George Gruhn who was one of the main people responsible for the design. The guitar shown here is a Nightbird with the fatter inlays and Nightbird GG on the truss rod cover, with what is obviously the maple top option.

Contrary to popularized misconceptions, the Oath is considered a business transaction rather than a religious matter. While most members certainly take the Oath very seriously, they are not worshipping Nocturnal as a deity, but respecting her as the patron of thieves.
