What is the Best Class for you in Guild Wars 2? This page will cover how each profession plays, both at a casual and a competitive level from PvE all the way to PvP. Note: we're going to use "class" and "profession" interchangeably since both are actively used by the GW2 playerbase to describe the same thing. Elementalists are masters of the elements. They're capable of strong damage per second or healing per second depending on playstyle. Elementalists have access to more weapon skills than any other class, which makes them difficult to pick up but rewarding to master. The Tempest elite specialization turns Elementalists into resilient group supports.

The Guardian. In all seriousness, the Guardian profession in Guild Wars 2 is an excellent choice for players who just started playing Guild Wars 2. As you progress through the game and unlock Elite Specializations via the expansions, the Guardian becomes a versatile jack-of-all-trades that excels at dealing damage and supporting allies. As a Heavy Armored Profession , the Guardian can sustain a lot of damage. The Guardian also has a variety of defensive abilities that make it highly survivable in challenging situations. However, the Guardian does have two drawbacks: it lacks mobility and ranged abilities. It relies heavily on strong, melee-focused attacks, which can take a while to execute and may make the profession feel somewhat slow at times. Nevertheless, the Guardian is an extremely solid choice and perhaps the best option if you only want to play one profession. The Thief may not be the best choice for players seeking a versatile profession, as it primarily focuses on dealing damage to a single target and only offers support abilities with the Specter Elite Specialization. The Engineer can fulfill both support and damage — dealing roles , but it is more complex to play than the Ranger.

In all seriousness, the Guardian profession in Guild Wars 2 is an excellent choice for players who just started playing Guild Wars 2. In contrast, the Deadeye elite specialization sacrifices mobility for stealth and impressive ranged single-target burst. Good range options like Bow and Rifle.

By Sakiboj. Hi, what is easiest and most fun class to play? I like range but i would go with melee if it's fun. Easiest classes for beginners are probably standard archetypes such as warrior only one F1 key , guardian mostly unused F keys except on firebrand , and ranger basically the hunter spec with a pet. If you only have core game or aren't going to venture into expansions I don't recommend necromancer nor ranger. If you want to play endgame content any of those works, however guardian is by far the most favored in both PVE and World versus World. If you play ranger you will want to not develop terrible habits such as letting the pet tank for you and it generally isn't highly regarded in WvW due to these bad habits.

By Saimeren. Hey, I'm just curious as to what you guys feel is the easiest class to play? If I'm looking for the most face-roll class that I can play when I don't really want to pay attention, what would that class be? I'm looking to do world content. Assume I don't have and won't for a while elite specs. I want something that's good at AoE clearing, and super good at survivability so I won't be punished for not paying attention. Warrior or Necro Reaper. They're both extremely facerolly.

There are a number of professions for players to step into in Guild Wars 2. Each has their own unique advantages and playstyles that ensures every player can do what they want. Even better are the subclasses that give further complexity to things. But over time, it has become apparent that some professions are better than others. Some seem well equipped to handle a variety of problems, others seem incredibly niche, and some are just simply better at pumping out DPS. For new and returning players to this MMORPG , here are all the professions in the game and how they currently stack up. End of Dragons is shaping up to be a wild ride for the popular free-to-play game, which is drawing extra attention from those that have yet to try the title.

When I'm lazy, all I need to press is like the dodge button and let the clones auto attack. Already have an account? Regardless of their role, they have good off-healing and numerous utility skills that shield their party members from attacks. Skilled Mesmers are wanted in every group regardless of game mode, as they open up entire new strategies with the utility that only a mesmer can provide. However, the Guardian does have two drawbacks: it lacks mobility and ranged abilities. Followers 1. All of these classes are fairly simple in their class mechanics and are built with naturally high HP and tankiness meaning they can withstand a beating. Mostly PvE content. You only mostly use a couple skills, so you can focus on positioning.

Your 1 goal with weapons is to charge up life force pretty fast so it's nearly full by the time during the second period when you are not in Shroud. Go to topic listing. In open world PvE, anything goes, it's just a matter of finding the right build for you. It turns out that revenant is not my cup of tea. The places that ranger primarily attacks from range are more or less PVP exclusively , if you camp shortbow it is strictly worse than using weaponswap. Since it's condition-based, a lot of damage you end up doing will be passive. Edit: You don't need celestial or trailblazer to make staff mirage work for open world. What's the easiest class for doing story missions? Scourge is nearly a fully ranged spec but necromancer isn't a particularly difficult class to level. Specter is perhaps the most forgiving iteration of Thief because they gain access to a Necromancer-like second health bar, and they offer players a mix of good damage and group support.
