As a kid, Hal Sparks was encouraged to refine his skills as a musician, and now the actor is channeling that into his inner David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. Sparks is the frontman of Nerd Halen, a Van Halen cover band whose members wear collared shirts, sweater vests and taped-up glasses. While Sparks is known for his acting, hosting and stand-up comedy, his musical career began in his youth. Sparks took vocals lessons and learned to play the guitar, bass and mandolin.
