Helloween are a German power metal band from Hamburg. Formed inthe group was originally a quartet featuring Kai Hansen on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Michael Weikath on lead guitar and backing vocals, Markus Grosskopf on bass and halloween band wiki vocals, and Ingo Schwichtenberg on drums.
By the time Hansen left Helloween in to form Gamma Ray , the band had evolved into a five-piece, with Michael Kiske taking over as lead vocalist. Schwichtenberg and Kiske both parted ways with Helloween in ; Schwichtenberg died two years later as the result of suicide. Between then and , there had been numerous line-up changes, leaving Grosskopf and Weikath as the only remaining original members. Since its inception, Helloween has released 16 studio albums, four live albums, three EPs and 30 singles, was honored with 14 gold and six platinum awards and has sold more than eight million records worldwide. Halloween is an American heavy metal band from Detroit , Michigan. However, the record was shelved until it was finally released on Molton Metal Records in In , members Rick Craig and Bill Whyte left to pursue other careers. S Tour. Bill Whyte went on to open his own recording studio and later in joined Detroit based band Abandon and released a 5-song EP called "Project unrealty" which was Recorded, produced and engineered by Bill Whyte. The band and EP got great reviews but Bill's time with the band was short-lived. In , Halloween opened for Crimson Glory on a couple of dates on their Transcendence tour.
He thought they were awesome. Those two records stand among the finest heavy metal albums from that glorious decade, and their influence can be heard in every band that followed who dared to dream big, from DragonForce through to Nightwish. The line-up that recorded them splintered shortly after the release of Part II , sparking years of bitterness, public antagonism and even, indirectly, a tragic death. It was a long and most un-Germanic soap opera. From the vantage point of , it might be difficult to comprehend why a Helloween reunion or whatever you want to call it is such a big deal beyond the pull of 80s heavy metal nostalgia. But that undersells just how important the band were — or could have been. They were the heirs apparent of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and the Scorpions, before it all went so badly and perplexingly wrong.
