The next Halo game could be coming to non-Xbox platforms. The evidence pointing to that possibility emerged online independently of the recent reports claiming "all" Xbox games could soon be going multi-platform. The Halo series has been synonymous with the Xbox ecosystem for over two decades, going back to the first entry in the franchise, Halo: Combat Evolved , which debuted in November as one of the select few launch titles for the original Xbox. The latest mainline installment, Halo Infinite , was released for PC and the last two Xbox console generations in December In contrast, its follow-up might end up launching beyond Microsoft's gaming ecosystem, according to a recently emerged job ad for a Lead Game Systems Designer at Industries. That interpretation of the listing tracks with a recent claim from Microsoft insider Jez Corden, who said he reckons Halo will eventually reach PlayStation.

Halo gamers are holding out hope that Infinite will get some sort of new campaign DLC content, but it sounds like i is already laying the foundations for the next mainline Halo game. Sources have told Ains, the editor-in-chief of Seasoned Gaming, that Industries has a group that's planning out the next Halo singleplayer campaign storyline. These assertions match up with reports from Bloomberg's Jason Schreier from early , which discussed how Industries was hit particularly hard by the recent Microsoft layoffs. The studio had outright eliminated some roles while also making layoffs and letting people go in the process. The short answer is nothing specific. What I can say, what I know anyway, is that yes, they do have a team working on the next Halo campaign. It is part of the restructure that is building the next generation of Halo on Unreal," Ains said in the SG Bitcast podcast. It's going to be a while so don't hold your breath. The next big Halo project is a unique mash-up that's codenamed Tatanka, possibly referring to the Lakota word for buffalo. Tatanka is being co-developed by Certain Affinity, a studio that has worked on Halo for quite some time, and is reportedly a mix of battle royale and extraction shooter. Earlier this year, we heard reports that Industries had decided not to bother pursuing any sort of single-player DLC for Halo Infinite - instead focusing on multiplayer content post-launch. However, that doesn't mean the team hasn't started work on an entirely new Halo campaign, and a fresh rumour suggests that's the case. Speaking on Hoeg Law's 'Bitcast', one of the hosts revealed some information on what Microsoft and are up to with the next Halo campaign. Here's what was said during episode of the podcast: thanks, TweakTown. The short answer is nothing specific. What I can say, what I know anyway, is that yes, they do have a team working on the next Halo campaign.

With Industries in flux, Microsoft faces an uncertain path for its prized franchise. A round of layoffs at Microsoft in January hit the studio hard. It was reported that Joe Staten, a Bungie veteran drafted in to get Infinite back on track, was on his way out following the departure of several other leads, including studio head Bonnie Ross. It then became apparent that Halo franchise head Kiki Wolfkill had left too. Both the studio and Xbox chief Phil Spencer had to take the humiliating step of denying a rumor that would no longer be working on Halo games directly, instead farming them out to third-party studios. No new story content for Halo Infinite is being worked on, Bloomberg reported, while unreleased multiplayer modes languish with tech troubles, and external studio Certain Affinity works on a possible battle royale-style spinoff.

I'm still playing it myself and still love the feel of it, looking forward to the new season. Oct 27, 30, Chicago. Dan my biggest gripe was we didnt see any other biomes within that story. Nope, and I'd bet on it. There will be new things labeled Halo, but the full-on Halo 7? We heard stories that the game was designed to be supported and expanded for 10 years following the launch, perhaps with large patches of updates, but that was all in mp initiatives. Bungie has long enjoyed using the number seven 7 in its games in many prominent ways. While almost anything can be made into a reference to something with effort or constructed accidentally through pareidolia , the following attempts to list the intentional references Bungie placed into Halo for the fans to find. As such, not all of these references may be fully accurate, and many of them may be proven to be false at any time.
They can only go up from here. Fortnite proves that Nanite and Lumen can be used over an open area with live player chaos while still achieving great image quality at 60fps on consoles. That's a smidge more than six years. Just build on Infinite and release story expansions. They have been developing their engine for years and it has been a thorn in their feet the whole time, it is difficult to work with, buggy and broadly generates the most basic and "barely acceptable" level of visual fidelity. But the campaign itself was a lot of fun until it got too samey looking. Oct 25, 10, Do you think Halo moving to Unreal Engine is a good idea? Tagyhag Member. It was built for that… seemingly….
