The absence of a deep history of air law is understood by the existence of the rules of law which are introduced after the first balloon flight experiments. For about years, air law has reached a modern structure in which a wide range of agreements and protocols are laid out in the name of the regulation of international civil aviation activities. All these which are related to the international air public law or the international air private law and definition, characteristics and scope of the air law are among the issues discussed in the doctrine. In this sense, in order to make all these matters more understandable, it is aimed to reveal the structure of the air law in this study and it is tried to reveal its characteristics by examining whether it has its own autonomy. Because it is understood that in air law the difference between air public law and air private law is not clear, the complexity of the relationship with all the branches of law is taken into consideration and it seems that it can not be considered separately from all relevant branches of law. Taking into account all of these, the fact that any aviation activity becomes a legal subject of many countries clearly demonstrates the international character of air law.
