The messages to be conveyed in the advertising texts are transmitted to the target audience through indicators. The formation and the way of arrangement of the meaning in the advertisements could be handled by semiotic analysis. In this study, which examines advertisements for convenience food, semiotic analysis is preferred, and advertisements for the Knorr brand are chosen as a case study. The advertisements that are the subject of the study are treated on the basis of the semiotic method of analysis of Saussure and Barthes. The semiotic codes of convenience food advertising are attempted to be revealed within the framework of the distinction between signifier and signified, as well as denotation and connotation, using the sample of Knorr. So, this study aims to discuss which semiotic codes are used by global brands in the convenience food sector to structure persuasion techniques and advertising strategies when entering the global market. As a result of the study, it was found that the global brand Knorr uses both localization and standardization strategies when entering the local market. As a part of the localization strategy, gender roles that fit the traditional family structure in Turkey were represented in the advertisements. In addition, it was found that traditional product types are used in accordance with the localization strategy in Knorr advertisements.
