The Hive is a Location in Hollow Knight. Please see Walkthrough for other areas. The Hive is an area that consists of a large community of bees and warriors in which a queen ruled and eventually, grew large until it could no longer leave - it was hidden away and was walled off from the kingdom of Hallownest to try and protect itself from the spread of The Infection. To reach The Hive, you'll need to find the Tram Pass which is found at the Failed Tramway in the northeast side of Deepnest and you'll need to have the Vengeful Spirit spell and at least the Monarch Wings and Mantis Claw abilities for traversing the area. Once you have the Tram Pass , ride the tram and go to the eastern side of the map towards Kingdom's Edge. From the tram, head east until you see a few small bees called Hivelings flying around, this indicates that you're near the entrance. Just behind the bees is a breakable wall which can only be destroyed by using the Vengeful Spirit spell - use the spell to open up the path that will take you to The Hive. Upon respectively arriving into The Hive, continue pushing through by going northeast into the next section, then drop all the way to the bottom, and then head west to find a bench. When you're done resting, continue pressing onto the east side of the area until you reach the elevated platforms. You'll encounter enemies such as a Husk Hive that spawns a couple of the Hiveling enemies upon death and a Hive Soldier that tracks the movement of The Knight before it attacks aggressively. From the elevated platforms, make your way to the top and then go west into the next section. Now, you should find yourself in a room where you'll encounter a new enemy by the elevated platforms called a Hive Guardian which are these overgrown bees that will aggressively charge towards The Knight's position and bounce off of surfaces. You'll have to make your way to the topmost part of the area then proceed east and then drop all the way to the bottom part of the room. At the bottom, there is a secret room behind a breakable wall which is at the lower west part of the room.
Garmond and Zaza only appear once in the announcement trailer; they are seen during the "New Quests" segment. Hollow Knight Beta - Shade behaviour.

As part of the new lifeblood update which is currently in open beta , there have been some significant editions to the Hive, which in my opinion, and the opinions of most players was the most underdeveloped area in the game. Now we have a fully-fledged Hive which, with significant changes including the Hive Guardians, which now do 2 damage instead of 1, as well as the addition of Hive Knight, a new boss.
Like their smaller kin, their only instinct is to protect the Hive at any cost to themselves. Somewhat clumsy, they'll often damage the structure of the Hive when charging at intruders. Does this cause them shame? I do not know whether they have the capacity for such a thing. Hive Guardians are enemies in Hollow Knight. They are huge bees whose only instinct is to guard the Hive by charging at intruders. Simply charges at the Knight , dealing 2 Masks of damage and rebounding off any terrain in its way. They can destroy cracked platforms, which can make platforming sections more difficult. Their massive size combined with their erratic bouncing movements makes them tricky to predict and avoid. Focus on them and destroy them as quickly as possible.

However, it's not only bosses that may cause you trouble during your journey through Hallownest, as the fallen kingdom is home to hundreds of deadly enemies. After a few hours of playing Hollow Knight, you should realize that attacking enemies from above is always a good strategy to cause some damage while staying away from danger. The Great Husk Sentries, however, carry a huge shield they can use to stop you from pogo-nailing their head. Furthermore, this enemy has an upward attack that punishes those who try to remain above them. Great Husk Sentries have a lot of health points and need multiple nail attacks, even with a fully upgraded weapon. Finally, the mightiest guardians of the City of Tears also cause two masks of damage with their heavy sword attacks. The only thing that prevents this enemy from being deadlier is that they show up in wide spaces and can be easily avoided. The Brooding Mawlek is one of the first bosses to test your Hollow Knight skill. This boss is deadly, erratic, and refuses to be pushed back by your nail strikes. The child version of the Mawlek retains most of the boss patterns, making it capable of quickly draining your masks.

Mighty Hegemol He hopes to meet the other Great Knights again and see Hallownest be reborn. If saved, he once again complains about the Knight meddling in his supposed heroics. When he is defeated five times in his dreams as White Defender , Ogrim wonders if the line of Hallownest's Great Knights ends with him or whether it can be passed on, mentioning that he can easily imagine the Knight standing amongst the greatest heroes of the age. Flightless but ferocious in battle. He regards the Knight as beneath him and accuses them of constantly getting in his way. Everything fades eventually, I suppose. When you're done resting, continue pressing onto the east side of the area until you reach the elevated platforms. The spiked wall near Brooding Mawlek does not exist.
