This year marks the 40th anniversary of Holly Hunt , and to celebrate the milestone, the studio is releasing HH40, a boundary-pushing collection of 18 new pieces of furniture and lighting. Under the guidance of its executive creative director, Jo Annah Kornak, Holly Hunt Studio debuted architectural chandeliers like the Frank Lloyd Wright—inspired Strata, enveloping Dune sofa, and visually arresting Ripple side tables, which feature an undulating aluminum top cantilevered over a fluted marble base. Each piece is rooted in our ethos and DNA of proportion, scale, materiality and craftsmanship. Indeed, the collection, first presented at the Holly Hunt flagship in New York, braves new ground for storied design brand. The Ripple side table takes on a much more fluid shape, with striations on the hand-finished marble base that mimic those left in the sand by receding tides.

Launching a new business in the middle of a pandemic is not for the faint of heart. And, in fact, it was during the financial crisis of that Hunt started a workshop that designed and built prototypes for the Holly Hunt Collection. It was the first time Hunt focused on ramping up her in-house product line; the shop later evolved and expanded into a full-on production facility. It is both a return to arenas with which she is very familiar, while also being wholly different from her previous gigs, allowing her creative freedom and the ability to work more holistically across the entire home sector. After launching her showroom in Chicago in , Hunt opened nearly a dozen more locations throughout the U.
