How to power up grav drive
Traveling to destinations through the vast reaches of space can be a daunting prospect, especially in the expansive universe of Starfield. This can only be achieved by powering up the Grav Drive, one of the most useful functions on any ship. Grav Jump allows you to fast travel between systems in Starfield.
Your first visit to a new star system means picking the star from the menu, jumping to the star system, picking a planet or moon to visit, and then landing on that planet at a landing target. Performing a grav jump, though, requires you to have power available for your grav drive. The speed of that countdown is not measured in seconds, mind you. There are a few limitations on how far your ship can grav jump. The limitations are all interconnected, and involve three things: the route , the grav drive jump range , and your fuel.

Learning all the ends and outs of piloting your starship can be tricky. In the vast expanse of space, humanity has always yearned for the thrill of exploration and the mysteries of the cosmos. Central to this experience is the Grav Drive, a crucial component of your starship that allows you to navigate the cosmos. Maintaining and upgrading this critical piece of your starship will be vitally important. Without it, you will not be able to travel to the outer regions of space. When you open up your star system map and choose where you want to go, Travel Data on the right-hand side of the screen will tell you the distance, as well as the number of jumps it will take to reach your destination. Once you have made the first initial jump to a new system, this will enable the option for you to fast travel on subsequent trips if you wish. Note that if you give the GRV bar only one bar of power that it will take longer for the jump to initiate and complete. If you can give it more than one bar, then the process will countdown progressively faster. Of all the systems in your starship, your grav drive and shields should normally be your top priority for power. The jump range if a starship is the maximum distance between two stars which your ship can handle. There are also a couple of other different warnings you may see on your Starmap. The simplest solution to this is to jump to that system first. You can land and explore, establish fast travel point or even an outpost, and then move on to your original system destination after. So, prepare for launch, and may the power of your Grav Drive carry you to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.

Starfield takes place across vast quantities of space, meaning you need a way of transporting yourself from planet to planet. Your ship can travel between planets within the same star system, but when it comes to going from system to system, your Grav Drive is key. If the message is already on your screen, then the Grav Drive should immediately activate upon adding power to it. Grav jumps depend on how far a system is in light years LY and how much fuel you have in your tank. Light years is the length that you can make grav jump based on how much fuel you have in your tank. A grav jump with more light years will take you from Point A to Point B without any stops, given you have enough fuel. The most you can travel when grav jumping is 30 light years. So the more fuel you have, the more light years you can travel granting you a bigger grav jump. There is a skill you can use called Astrodynamics that can aid in grav jump range. If you are not into putting points in Astrodynamics, try adding Sarah Morgan to your team.
