Camp is the overworld where you will build your base, do your crafting and where most of your quests will be given. You can also find a lot of materials in the open and in the bunker. You can earn XP by fighting infected or by finishing quests. Raising a camp's level mainly lets you build better and better structures and defenses. On the other hand, the higher the level of the camp, the tougher and more dangerous the infected in the zone become. To upgrade your camp to the next stage, you need to complete the Kovac challenge at the Pylon building.
