Despite this, in the final race, httyd hiccup and astrid, Astrid displays some concern at the fact that Hiccup and Toothless would have to take the longer route of the course and recognizes with a smile his redemption of himself when Hiccup throws the race so Snotlout could keep to his father's high standards. Despite his assurance that he will return, when the villagers all realize that the lightning wasn't because of Toothless, Astrid appears emotional and distraught. It turns out that the map was fake and planted by Krogan to get at Hiccup.
