We recently had two 66's in our shop for repair. One had IH Hy Tran in it and the other had a cheaper farm store hydraulic oil. Not trying to start a debate again, but this is why we always run Hy Tran in our stuff. I did not take pictures of the inside of the rear end wish I had and only the screen and filter out of the cheap oil tractor. The screen out of the Hy Tran tractor was perfectly clean and the filter looked clean on the outside as well. The inside of the rear housing on the cheap oil was terribly grimy and had a thick sludge in the bottom. Owner claims he changes the filter once a year, tractor had all CaseIH filters. The other one was perfectly clean and looked beautiful inside. Owner said he couldn't remember when he last changed the hydraulic filter! Both tractors had the PTO's removed so we could clearly see in the housings. The Hy Tran tractor is a loader tractor that basically has a hard life and rarely sees the shed. The other doesn't loader, but does everything else.
