Carmela Isabella is a spoiled rich girl from the 21st century who went back to 19th century colonial Philippines to fulfill a mission. I Love You Since is one of the popular stories on Wattpad back in Along with a lot of well-known books, it has been published locally. Due to the lack of access to the edited, published hard copies, I settled with reading on the unedited version on Wattpad. My expectation for the Wattpad version was not high since it is the first draft. If you cannot bear reading unpolished work, then I suggest do not read the Wattpad version.

I generally get bogged down in the second novel while reading sequels, but not with this one. I read this book because I saw far too many copies of it at bookstores, not only in the city, and I was intrigued about the story and why so many people were waiting in line to buy it. It was my first novel written by a Filipino author, which I read and bought. And since it's my first, I have great expectations.

The story starts interestingly with the main character Carmela Isabella finding herself back in and meeting her future love, Juanito Alfonso. The problem is, the two are from different era: and The middle part of the book is dragging and forced as the author probably wants more Carmela and Juanito romantic moments. The loophole in the story is the Carmelita to Carmela to Carmelita transition itself. There is no logical explanation why Juanito has to live and why Carmelita has to die and her death is even suggested by a supposed divine creature.

Though I appreciate the additional knowledge on legends, it would have been better and more efficient to make the character retell the story concisely in paragraphs and the story would have been okay without the songs inserted. Cherishing somebody to the point that you would prefer not to lose them is an extremely difficult circumstance when predetermination is against you. Habang si Jua I remember when I was still reading this story I cannot help my self from reading only one chapter in night especially when there is only few chapters left because every scene in the story is exciting that makes you curious on what going to happen next.
