Jam Delish is an independent family-owned Caribbean vegan restaurant and cocktail bar in Angel, Islington. Founded in by siblings Jordan and Chyna, their idea was one that came purely from their desire to bring their grandparents authentic, traditional Caribbean recipes from their family home to the London food scene, with a fresh and modern take, inspired by their own upbringing in a vegan household.

It can be so dry, it would choke a dromedary, or, worse still, it can look utterly delicious, yet taste like polystyrene. Good plant-based dining is about textures, contrasts, balance, plating and, above all, making natural items such as lentils, plantains and oyster mushrooms the stars of the show. In truth, haters of fake meat products such as seitan, tofu, TVP and the rest will have issues with Jam Delish, because they feature throughout the menu, but mainly to add realism rather than flavour.
