Jeremy Allen White born February 17, is an American actor. Upon entering a new middle school dance program at the age of 13, he decided to pursue acting. White had his first acting roles in , first in the film Beautiful Ohio and then in the series Conviction. In , White was cast in the lead role of the Hulu series The Bear. He plays the troubled but brilliant New York chef Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, who returns to his hometown of Chicago to save his deceased brother's failing restaurant.

The two actors had never met before. But White and Penn were the only two people smoking at the party, so every time the former would head out for a cigarette, the latter would ask to tag along. For most aspiring young stars, this would be a dream come true: one-on-one face time with a legend whose career you want to model your own after.
