Maria Josefin Asplund born 15 October [1] is a Swedish actress. Asplund grew up in the suburbs of Stockholm, Sweden, with her Polish mother, Swedish father and older sister. Asplund's parents divorced when she was 7 years old. Asplund began acting at the local theater close to her home at the age of 6, where she played various characters in different musicals until her teenage years. During her childhood the stage was one of few places that truly felt like home, she said in an interview with Swedish Radio. The series was later released in March and become one of our favourite series of — most notably for an outstanding performance from Josefin. This time round, I catch up with her during a break from filming in Denmark for a new undisclosed series! Josefin always seems to have an interesting hair style going on — for those who caught her in the later seasons of Vikings will remember some of the styles she had going on there, then there was her character in Snow Angels which leads me to discuss her character Emily in Top Dog , whose wardrobe is slightly more upmarket than her previous roles. Released back in , Top Dog seems to have circumnavigated around the world before finally coming to the UK with Walter Presents on All4. Her character is very determined to become one of the top lawyers in Sweden and her work is practically her entire life, but in doing so she encounters some very tricky situations, the first when she encounters Teddy played by Alexej Manelov.

Although the flagship Vikings series came to an end on Amazon Prime in , original cast member Josefin Asplund told Express. Unfortunately, her character was killed off during a climactic scene with Lagertha Katheryn Winnick in the penultimate season.
