Eye doctors are plentiful on this plan. If you have a specific eye doctor you would like to use, simply call their office or contact us to confirm they take the plan. Most do. Our vision plans cover annual eye exams, glasses, contact lenses, bifocals, and trifocals at no additional cost to you or your employees. Mission Statement The mission of The Kaiser Permanente, Santa Rosa Primary Care Optometry Residency Program is to provide residents with clinical experience, knowledge of diagnosis, as well as treatment and management through direct patient care that will lead them to attainment of advanced and enhanced proficiency and clinical competency. Program Objectives The resident will experience approximately 1, direct patient care encounters consisting of primary and secondary eye care. These encounters will consist of regularly scheduled patients and non-scheduled urgent care patients. The resident will develop and demonstrate the ability to form appropriate ocular differential diagnoses, including differentials for ocular disease and systemic disorders with ophthalmic manifestations. The resident will demonstrate previously learned and licensed advanced techniques and ophthalmic skills. The resident will interact with ophthalmological and non-ophthalmological healthcare providers on a non-urgent and urgent basis possibly via phone consults, virtual consults, and non-urgent consultations and referrals. The resident will develop interactive skills with ophthalmology specialists and subspecialists. The resident will participate as a member of the health care team by adding diagnoses and other information useful to the multidisciplinary health care team into the HealthConnect electronic medical record system.

Welcome to the Optometry Department. We provide a full range of eye health care services including eye exams, urgent eye care appointments, surgical procedures and screening for diabetic patients. To better serve you, we ask that you bring your current glasses and any contact lens information that you may have if applicable. If you wear contact lenses please bring any current boxes, containers, and written prescriptions that you may have. If you are a contact lens wearer, please wear your contacts at least 2 hours prior to coming to the eye care department so that we may evaluate the fit properly. We offer a coordinated team approach to eye care.
Order your contact lenses early! Lenses may take days to deliver. Some may take longer due to a national shortage. Kaiser Permanente's Doctors of Optometry ODs provide comprehensive eye exams and prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses. They evaluate and treat many eye problems including infections, minor trauma, inflammations, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. Kaiser Permanente's Ophthalmologists MDs treat patients with advanced eye disease and surgical eye problems, such as cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, eye muscle problems, advanced glaucoma, and other serious eye disorders.
