For this purpose data relating to the social-demographic features and protection processes of the children who stay at child home have been collected and children's relations with their families, their relations within the child home system, their relations with the systems out of the house, social activities they attend and the physical conditions of the child homes have been comparatively approached with the conditions of the children who stay with a family. Mixed research model including both quantitative and qualitative design has been used in the research. Interview form developed by the researcher was applied in quantitative section of the research to children of ages ranging between 12 years old who stay at child home in İzmir and in control group to children of ages ranging between 12 years old who stay with a family and continue their education in state schools in İzmir. It is seen that children who stay at child home or with a family are almost equally recognized by their neighbors. It was seen that both groups had rates close to each other in performance of various sportive and social activities while the activities performed outside with their peers were more frequent than the activities of the children who stay with a family.
