Powered by a modern, liquid-cooled V-twin engine with four valves per cylinder, the VN engine is a development of the reliable, long-running VN engine. The Classic differs from the base VN mostly in the styling, although it has the 40cm 16in spoked wheels of the Drifter rather than the 53cm 21 in front wheel of the VN. Deep, valanced mudguards, a chromed air-filter housing and fat fork shrouds complete the Classic's authentic styling. It is an unremarkable bike to ride, best used for round-town cruising. OK, so America hasn't exactly honed a new cutting edge of motorcycle technology in the last few decades. But we have shaped how the well-dressed, real steel, big-bore street-bike should look.

Powering the Vulcan Classic is a rubber-mounted cc V-twin engine with a single-pin crankshaft, and a gear-driven balancer to reduce vibration. Finned cylinders and four-valve heads are liquid cooled for optimum thermal control. A spin-on oil filter helps keep maintenance at a minimum.

Strong, reliable and with pretty funky handling for a cruiser, the Kawasaki VN makes for a useful bike as well as a perfect pose-machine. Not bad value but a bugger to keep clean. Ground clearance is minimal though. The Kawasaki VN's engine boasts an incredibly smooth and consistent delivery of power. Very strong. Average to good. Find a Kawasaki VN for sale. The Kawasaki VN has a very comfortable dual seat and forward pegs give you the look whilst the big, wide bars give you plenty of leverage. The VN has the usual mountains of chrome, fat pipes and tank top instrument panel plus a plethora of outrageous extras you never realised you needed, such as chrome oil filler caps and caliper covers. Lacks the shaft drive of its higher-powered sibling VNs.

I bought this bike nearly new. It now has over 32, miles on the odometer. I maintain this bike perfectly. I run the best motor oil. The only complaint I have is that the drive chain gets loose and sloppy about once a season. I have ridden this bike on trips from southern Michigan to Tennessee The bike has plenty of passing power forthe highways and I can cruise at 75mph all day long. I personally think this bike has a "sweet spot" on fuel milage. Meaning, if you stay out of the red zone, you get 55mpg The best part of this bike, is you cannot be ashamed to be seen riding it.
