Killua and gon

So, a few days ago I found this post on Reddit from 2 years ago that sadly barely got any attention at the time that sheds a ton of light on the separation scene between Gon and Killua, and my mind killua and gon blown! I had to share it with you all.

The world of anime is full of great bromances. Eren and Armin, Gon and Killua, and new entries to the world of anime Bam and Khun each remind viewers just how beautiful a childhood friendship can be. Unfortunately, no relationship is perfect, so even iconic bromances like these have their ups and downs. Hunter X Hunter gave anime fans one of the best bromances in all of anime, but the relationship between Gon and Killua is far from perfect. On a number of occasions, Gon and Killua damaged their relationship by acting out of their own self-interest.

He barely stops himself from asking Gon what Killua means to him. Killua was scared that Gon only saw him as a teammate. It represents someone with whom you share a mutual goal. Gon and Killua always referred to each other as friends since the beginning of the manga. People who work together, who share a goal, without that deeper emotional bond. On top of that, Gon feels extreme guilt towards what happened during the Palace Invasion. Those words. Those words he feared. That affirmation that Gon only saw him as a teammate. Gon just confirmed those doubts and insecurities that were burning him from the inside out for a while. It basically means that if Gon or Killua stay here any longer, something will happen. What Killua hears is probably different. Gon is probably eager to meet him. Killua is no one compared to Ging. Gon probably cares more about Ging than Killua.

It is very clear throughout the series that the two of them balance each other out. The ship has been the most popular in the HxH fandom since the manga started publishing in the 90s on all sides of the fandom, killua and gon. And that time and distance will slowly render him less important to Gon.

Killugon is the slash ship between Killua and Gon from the Hunter x Hunter fandom. Killua and Gon first meet when they take the Hunter Exam together, and grow into fast friends because they are the only two who are the same age. This is interrupted when Illumi, Killua's brother, tells Killua at the end of the final part of the exam that someone like Killua has nothing he wants and should return home. Killua states that his largest desire is to be friends with Gon, and Illumi interjects that his desire is really to kill Gon, not befriend him. Leorio, Gon and Killua's mutual friend, interrupts this to say that Gon and Killua are already friends regardless of what Illumi says. Either way, the impact of Illumi's words is devastating for Killua and he returns home. Gon, who has been unconscious for these events, wakes up and decides he immediately has to get Killua back.

Hunter x Hunter began serialization in in Weekly Shonen Jump. Writer and illustrator Yoshihiro Togashi has had his work compiled into 37 volumes so far. The manga series has been on hiatus multiple times since its start, its most recent one ending in October However, the manga has gone on hiatus again as Togashi continues to battle health issues. The series follows a young protagonist, Gon Freecss, as he goes through the process of becoming a professional Hunter in order to find his father, a world-renowned Hunter. During his journey, Gon meets many incredible people , including Killua Zoldyck. Ever since they met, Gon and Killua have spent the majority of the series by each other's sides, but does that necessarily mean that they are best friends? Gon Freecss was only a baby when his father, Ging Freecss, left him in the care of his aunt. He makes multiple friends during its course but gains a special fondness for a boy his age, Killua Zoldyck.

I just want to be a kid. Hanging out, doing stuff with Gon. That's it. He is the best friend of Gon Freecss and is currently traveling with Alluka Zoldyck. He has served as the deuteragonist for the series, having said role in the Heavens Arena , Greed Island , and Chimera Ant arcs. He was the main protagonist of the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc. He also was the tritagonist of the Hunter Exam arc and the Yorknew City arc.

His emotional connection to Gon and Kite is made very clear during the Chimera Ant Arc, yet Gon still believes his friend is unable to register the emotional weight of losing them. This led to Gon sneaking into the Zoldyck estate, putting his life at risk in order to reunite with his friend. He then later was brought to the hospital. Sometimes you shine so bright I have to look away. Unfortunately, no relationship is perfect, so even iconic bromances like these have their ups and downs. During his time without nen, Gon promises to go on a date with Palm to make up for the fact they lost the fight with Knuckle and Shoot, as they promised her they would win it. But even so, is it still okay if I stay by your side?

Hunter x Hunter is making waves once more, and of course, it is good to see the series back in action.

And when they part, Gon unknowingly confirmed those doubts. Killua is given an ultimatum by their other mentor Biscuit that if Killua can't beat Shoot, 'he should leave Gon's side'. His emotional connection to Gon and Kite is made very clear during the Chimera Ant Arc, yet Gon still believes his friend is unable to register the emotional weight of losing them. After reaching town, Killua expresses regret that he left Kite, their mutual mentor, alone to die. Gon agrees. Leorio, Gon and Killua's mutual friend, interrupts this to say that Gon and Killua are already friends regardless of what Illumi says. Fortunately, Killua understands that in order to grow as a fighter and keep his friends safe, he has to be willing to put his life on the line from time to time. In fact, as far as manipulating the plot is concerned, Killua serves as a stronger protagonist than Gon on a number of occasions. Killua states that his largest desire is to be friends with Gon, and Illumi interjects that his desire is really to kill Gon, not befriend him. This is particularly evident when Gon assumes that Killua doesn't care about losing Kite just because he is able to control his emotions and stick to the plan they made prior to entering Chimera Ant territory.
