It's a bit of a surprise that such fiery destructive power comes from an enemy that's so adorable. Hot Head kind of resembles Q-Bert if he didn't know how to properly light a match. There's such a fascinating hierarchy of creatures in the Kirby series and it's often difficult to ascertain who is an ally and who is meant to impede Kirby's journey. Poppy Bros. The Switch release features one of Kirby's biggest worlds yet and the new entities that fill it are especially charming. Kirby's very first game — Kirby's Dream Land for Game Boy — appeared in Japan on 27th April , which means today marks 30 years since HAL Laboratory's loveable pink marshmallow first sucked up our hearts. With the release of the marvellous Kirby and the Forgotten Land , the little guy hasn't been short of attention recently and some incredible 30th anniversary tributes have been flooding social media over the past day or so, including from Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai. We're fortunate enough here at Nintendo Life to count among our ranks one of Kirby's biggest fans — Gemma, our amazing Community Manager. She's got an extensive Kirby collection and for this most celebratory of days we asked her to take a snap or two of some Kirby-themed games, consoles, accessories and assorted items Below you'll find a selection of our favourite photos. And don't forget, if you're looking to celebrate Kirby's 30th with more than just eye-meltingly lovely images, we've got some meaty Kirby coverage elsewhere, too:.

The best way to defeat Phan Phan is to hit him from a distance. These critters look like a cross between a dog and a fox and even though they're supposed to be intimidating, they are adorable. Awoofys are cute, fox-like creatures that are quite weak, but still adorable nonetheless. Sparky has been Kirby's main go-to for the Spark Copy Ability. Marx has slowly shifted into an ally, something that is evident in Kirby Star Allies. They're members of the Beast Pack, a group of animals that have been capturing Waddle Dees since Kirby and friends' arrival into the Forgotten Land. Chilly is another mainstay of the series, the little snowman that gives Kirby the ice power. Still, the possibilities of Kirby's Copy Abilities are endless, so maybe classic enemies like these two could give the mascot a different power in a new game. Simirror is an exclusive enemy to Kirby Super Star , with an appearance in Planet Robobot, weirdly enough. What makes Chilly stand out is that it is very angry at all times. Squeakers don't give Kirby any copy abilities, but they can be used against each other if the protagonist spits them out. However, Kawasaki's initial appearance in Kirby Super Star is as an enemy obstacle. They come in three different colors: yellow, blue, and green. Again, not the most inventive of enemies, but it works perfectly and gives a bit of variety to enemy designs but not being very creative. Marx possesses incredible power, but he looks like he could be Kirby's silly sibling. It's a robot with one eye, tennis shoes, and a radical baseball cap. However, that doesn't stop them from being cute, nor does it stop gamers from defeating them to clear the stage. Similarly to some of the other odd designs in the series, Gim is just very charming and radical with its yo-yo skills.
