Hi everyone, newbie here, newly purchased KLR and new to off-road!
Klr 650 mods
There are many KLR mods that you can do to modify its performance and comfort, but not all of them are actually worth your money. The KLR is a fairly versatile motorcycle, so it can be safely ridden on many types of terrain. One more thing before getting started is knowing which generation Kawasaki KLR you have. One small reason why the KLR is so durable and reliable is that it keeps a lot of dirt and debris out of the air box. The cleaner the air that goes through the intake, the longer the engine will last because dirt eats away at the metal parts, wearing them out much quicker, which leads to needing a rebuild. In most cases, you will need to adjust the jetting after uncorking opening up the air box. When you increase the amount of air going to the carb, this will generally create a lean air-fuel mixture. A quick fuel screw adjustment can potentially fix this issue. You also might not feel much, if any, horsepower increase after this mod until you properly adjust the jetting. You can buy the individual jets fairly cheap, or if you just want a kit, you can get the 6 Sigma Jet Kit Amazon for a reasonable price and it comes with everything you need to increase the intake and carb performance on any KLR from It requires using two 4 Stainless steel washers Amazon , which normally cost 22 cents for a pair of them if you go to your local hardware store. You simply install them under the stock needle clip on the carburetor throttle slide. This raises the needle, similar to adjusting the needle clip position on an adjustable needle.

Kawasaki's venerable KLR is one of motorcycling's true workhorses. Introduced in , it has been around the block and around the world countless times. The KLR isn't the prettiest, the highest-tech, or "the best" at one particular thing. Instead it's a bike about compromises made in logical ways. Covering miles on the street or in the dirt, on the commute to the office or on the Alaskan Haul Road to the Arctic Ocean, the KLR's versatility means it can damn well do anything. Cheap, reliable, made for the abuse of roads less traveled: These are qualities that make the KLR a permanent fixture in a rider's stable.

I have a clip on windshield spoiler and a phone mount. Can you recommend me a reference that is in the range of less than 50 dollars and that does not have more than 40 watts per bulb. I have no plans on getting any performance mods for the bike, I've got other bikes if I want to go fast. Now the only street-legal bike I currently have is my good 'ol '06 KLR And also, I have looked up the height of the windscreen specifically for KLR , but all I get is suspiciously similar in all written reviews "2 inches higher".. Deals Forum. I could stand up or duck 5 inches and it was reasonably quiet but sitting normal it was loud. I have owned my for nearly a year now with a bit of riding under my belt however due to a busy schedule not as much as i had hoped. I had buddies that would buy a super sportbike and swap out plastics with carbon fiber, fuel caps, tag mount deletes, integrated signals, seat covers, tank stickers Gas and go!! There are a few different screen height options, depending on how you want it to function and look. The guy I bought it from used the "top of the line" amsoil 10w in it. Just enjoy the bike stock for now, its new enough to take you anywhere you want and back. What are some aftermarket windscreens that fit this?
