According to the Pueblo Police Department, a shooting happened just after midnight on Sunday near the intersection of W. Highway 50 and Bonforte Blvd. When officers arrived at the scene, they were told a vehicle had driven away. During the investigation, police believed that the suspects were in a silver Kia Rio. Later in the day, Patrol Officers saw a vehicle that matched that description on the east side of Pueblo. They attempted a traffic stop, which initiated a pursuit. Officers pursued the vehicle around town, eventually chasing the suspects westbound on Highway 50 West. The vehicle then wrecked into a fence, and a driver and passenger took off running. Arrest papers say that year-old Davonte Evans shot himself while on the run. Police say the other suspect, year-old Jordan Ziegler, was wanted in connection with a homicide in Pueblo.
