Kynesgrovea simplification of the original Kyne's Grove [1]and kynesgrove known as Dragonwood is a small village south of Windhelm. The village survives off a Malachite mine and some kynesgrove. The village also has an arena that is among the oldest ones still in service, kynesgrove.

Kynesgrove or Kyne's Grove , also called Dragonwood or Dragon Wood , is a forested settlement located on the outskirts of Windhelm , on the other side of the Yorgrim River. The township is tiny as the only building is a simple inn called the Braidwood Inn. Kynesgrove has a mine located north of the Inn called the Steamscorch Mine which houses Malachite Ore , a common ore used to make Glass Armor , which is commonly used by Altmer of the Summerset Isles. Kynesgrove is the home of the Keepers of the Grove , a group of Nordic priestess that guard the Kynesgrove Forest, seeing it as sacred grounds for Kyne of the Nordic Pantheon. The closest settlement to Kynesgrove is the city of Windhelm to the north, the town of Lower Yorgrim to the northeast, and the village of Cragwallow to the southeast.

It has always bothered me to some extent that Kynesgrove gets major attention during the main quest, even with its own guard contingent, yet is nothing more than one inn and a few people in a small camp. Given that it's supposed to be an actual village, it felt like these people needed to at least have proper homes even if they are poor. Now, even though they all still work the mines, they have homes to return to at night. If you got into the mine, there will be two women that will comment that they built it before they discovered that the trees that they were going to harvest were on sacred ground. Dravynea the Stoneweaver keeps the mine from collapsing and getting too warm with a potion she makes from frost salts.
