Affix Shards are consumable items which influence modifiers that are present on equipment.

Dave Irwin. Published: Feb 19, How does Last Epoch crafting work? Making builds is at the core of this ARPG, as not only can your character level up and gain unique buffs, but each skill you equip can get points you spend to make it more potent. But having decent killing techniques is only part of the puzzle, as your equipment truly dictates precisely how powerful you really are. Luckily, you can mitigate the sheer random nature of this by taking advantage of crafting. It may be tempting to just leave this whole mechanic until the endgame, but you should explore the Last Epoch crafting system as early as possible in the RPG game.

Affixes are the modifiers on equipment that exist in addition to Implicits. They can be present on the item when it is dropped, or they can be added and modified later through Crafting using Shards. The number of affixes on an item often determines its Rarity. Affixes have 7 tiers, with tier 1 being the lowest and tier 7 being the highest. However, only tier 1 through 5 can be created through crafting. Tier 6 and 7 affixes must be on the item when it drops. The values of an affix at each tier fall within a range, but the lowest roll of a tier is always higher than the tier below it. The value an affix has on an item can be re-rolled within its tier using a Rune of Refinement. Affixes are broken into two main categories: prefixes and suffixes. An item can have up to 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes. All stats granted by affixes are global. You can view the list of all equippable items and their affixes in Item Database.

In patch 0. These changes are primarily targeting affixes and items. In this devblog, we will be covering changes made to affixes, secondary defenses, minions, and some new item types. Every non-idol affix in the game has been changed in some way. We have a few key goals to achieve with these changes. First, to partition off defensive affixes from other affixes in many slots so you can choose damage or utility affixes without worrying that you should be focusing on defenses instead. Third, to have more of your offensive power should stem from items, so that getting item upgrades feels more impactful and rewarding. Class specific affixes have all been moved from being suffixes to now being prefixes. This is so they no longer compete with defensive suffixes on those items and are less likely to appear alongside niche prefixes for different builds.

Uniques are often exceptionally powerful items, but there are a lot of them and they vary greatly in value. When a shiny new Unique drops, how do you determine whether it's a Best in Slot BiS or an item that you can safely leave behind if the affixes don't appeal to you? While it would be unrealistic to list every Unique here and give it a relative value, we can tell you about some of the most useful and sought after ones in the game! Keep in mind that just because an item doesn't make the list doesn't mean it's useless. We had to cut off the list somewhere, which means some items that didn't make it will still be good in the right circumstance. Instead, we recommend using this guide as a way to start understanding what makes Uniques valuable while also making sure you don't miss some of the best stuff. Items with Legendary Potential are considerably more valuable than ones without. Many of the items on this list are capable of getting multiple LP on them. As a general rule of thumb, if you find any Unique with 2 or more LP, you should take a close look at it, because it's often the difference between trash and treasure.
