Then came the best part of Christmas — the presents!

Clarke grew as a character throughout his relatively short stint on Legacies, and he was fully prepared to dive headfirst into the pit. Disappointed in this storyline.

Hope is shocked when people start celebrating Christmas in October and sets out to find out what's going on. She uses a spell to turn Simu-Landon into Clarke and lets him out. He tries to use it to his advantage, but Malivore sends Krampus to kill him. A fight ensues between Santa and Krampus, with the former winning. Clarke leaves, telling Hope he will jump into the pit to close it up. However, the Necromancer arrives from behind the cloak, killing him. The mud pit closes up, presumably revealing things are good. Lizzie and Sebastian have sex as Landon returns to the school to tell Hope he loves her and Lizzie he does not. Rafael is taken to his father by Landon and he learns that his mother is missing, and that she was the werewolf in the family.

We totally should have seen that coming. Ho-ho-holy crap! Christmas was 10 kinds of crazy at the Salvatore School. The midseason finale of Legacies took a small detour into absurdity by bringing both a Krampus and the actual Santa Claus to town, and the showdown between the two "monsters" was, like the episode title forewarned, surprisingly violent. After returning to school, Landon finally made his decision between the two girls who are kind of perfect for him, and whether you love or hate his choice, you have to admire the epically romantic speeches he gave to both girls. In the end, Landon chose Hope, as we all kind of knew he would. It's hard to deny your first love, after all.

The only positive here is that the pair are keeping each other happy, but there are always testing times during new relationships. Malivore wants people it can trust working for it, and Clarke's loyalty is all over the place. This universe has a habit of keeping us on our toes with new arrivals, but for now, I'm glad Raf is being fleshed out. A person could not ask for a better partner, a better conscience.
