The reFrame System is a modular brick skeleton aimed to help both new and veternan brick mech builders create their own designs in a consistent size with modular capabilities. It was originally designed to be a basis for all my mechs in the Mech Wars universe. Having gone through a number of upgrades, the V3 reFrame can now house a minifigure pilot in the chest without sacrificing aesthetic or articulation. Mech Wars is a fictional setting that takes place in a future version of Earth. The meteors themselves offer a new source of crystal power, later known as Quorus, and the remaining world powers now engage in an arms and resource race to control Quorus-rich territories. It is heavily influenced by Japanese mecha games and anime such as Armored Core, Front Mission, and Gundam and credits most of its core ideas to these pillars of eastern mecha story and design.

The exterior walls are absolutely covered with valves, hoses, and random little bits of greebling everywhere. I may have gotten a bit carried away with it all… It was fun finding unexpected uses for various orange pieces as details, like carrots, old Power Miners parts, and even brick separators on the back! Inside you'll find everything needed for the factory to run smoothly: all sorts of tools and spare parts neatly stored away, blueprints for the next big project, and a set of stairs leading up to a massive, working conveyor belt in the back! Materials can be loaded in through the chute on the side of the factory where they zip across the moving conveyor, allowing a robotic claw arm to grab parts and align them for assembly.

Mecha can look like giant armored humans, animals, armored tanks on legs with Gatling arms, or any other shape you desire. To build a LEGO mecha, it is best to start with the legs as they will provide the foundation and support. They have to be sturdy enough to hold up your entire model, and also have articulation for movement. Or you can just skip the knees all-together, like I did with the mech below. Next, you need to build a torso for your LEGO mech.
