Has anyone had any experience purchasing in bulk from a LEGO store? I'm interested in purchasing a large quantity of elements - way more than a standard cup. Anyone have information on pricing, etc? I have bought a "K box" from my local lego store. It's just the boxes that they use to stock the pick-a-brick wall. QTY and box size vary by piece.

The parts are in large bins hanging on a wall, and you can buy whatever you need from the wall in whatever quantities you need. Stores also used this for the Monthly Mini-Build, which often featured parts that may not otherwise end up on the wall. The downside is that the parts available vary by store as well as by month. It seems like a good group of people. Since these are updated by local volunteers anyone can do this though , some are more up-to-date than others. Here in Vancouver, an employee at one of the two stores updates the list for their store, which is awesome. A nice cool blue for recent updates and getting progressively more toward orange as the update gets c older. This is great for adding a new store, or doing a massive update to a neglected wall.

Unfortunately, the site has a quite cumbersome method of updating involving downloading and then re-uploading an Excel sheet therefore many of the store locations have been greatly out of date. You can simply access the site from your phone while at the store, and fix any discrepancies in the inventory. The website is WallOfBricks.
