I am new at sewing I know this is 2 years too late but this instruction confused me for ages too. Forget about cutting a 'second circle' - you have already cut it! But thanks so much to the author of this really helpful tutorial. I followed it last night and my daughter is now at school dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. She looks great. This is adorable. Thanks for sharing, this is just what I was looking for. Thank you! I know you posted this last Halloween but I found it while searching pinterest this year.
Wish there was a way to post a photo so you could see the end product. Keep scrolling for step by step instructions with pictures. So really she just needs a dress and a red hooded cape.
I want to teach you all how I made my 2 year old daughter this red velvet cloak with just one yard of fabric. It was so amazingly easy to make and it turned out way better than I could have hoped or dreamed. Keep scrolling for step by step instructions with pictures. First, meet Clara, aka Red. Little red riding hood outfit made for costume party Yeah. So that is a guy in the photo. He decided he wanted to wear it more than me. Hahaha he pulled it off pretty well to loool! I didn't have alot of time to make it so I needed something easy and cheap to make. It was a"R18" themed party so instead of going as a skanky nurse or dominatrix like some of the others I decided to be violence not nudity. I carried a decapitated wolf soft toy in my basket. Heh heh! Not had a chance to wear but hopefull they'll be another party soon. I simply cut it off to the length I wanted.

Hi Shannon, Yonly need two pieces of the front — the back is one peice. The question I have is if I am not using fleece but another material for the hood pieces do I cut 2 and then flip the pattern over and cut to facing the other direction? Her petticoat was something that I just threw together with some tulle, elastic and white costume fabric. Did you by chance get that done?? If no lining: Turn front of hood exterior under. Ooooh, oooh, oooh………I think this has become my favorite blogging time of the year. You know, when I get to make somewhat gawdy, a little over the edge, impractical yet fantastical outfits for my children for Halloween. And last year I said it would probably be the last time my children would let me coerce them into a theme.
The sizes come in adult one size fits most , Child large children , Child Medium years and child small 12 months — 2 years. I did finish all the edges off with my rolled hemmer on my serger. The hood needs to go on as is, but you might consider extending one of the front panels so it can go across the body and open one the side. Thank you so much! I downloaded the pattern. If you are trying to fully line the cape you will need to double the fabric — only the hood is lined. Neither of us have any great sewing ability. Just whipped this up for world book day for my 3 year old, fabulous tutorial, thank you! Thanks for sharing with us. Pick one for your hood. Felt is a good alternative, but can be a little more stiff and warm. Forget about cutting a 'second circle' - you have already cut it! My daughter loves it and it will be so warm for trick-or-treating. Hi Angel, thank you for the wonderful pattern. Holiday Projects Toggle child menu Expand.
