As we approach the High Holidays, we enter a time of both reflection and renewal — an ever-important time to engage with and support our shared community. At Park Avenue Synagogue, we hope that the plethora of in-person and online activities, from prayer services to learning sessions, can help you do just that. From daily minyan to High Holiday services, we read Torah, learn from our rabbis, sing with our cantors, comfort mourners, and pray together from wherever we are. An uplifting morning service, with Torah reading, a sermon, and often with celebration of bnei mitzvah. Find the joy of Shabbat music and liturgy in a smaller setting, with opportunity to participate and engage in Jewish learning. Come sing and learn with us as we celebrate Shabbat together. Whether observing Yom Kippur or Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot or Simchat Torah, we look forward to these opportunities to worship and learn together. At the conclusion of the final Shabbat before Rosh Hashanah, we gather for communal prayers of forgiveness as we begin to transition to the High Holidays and prepare for the Days of Awe. Selihot will begin with a celebration in sog, as Cantor Davis and musical guests share Jewish musical favorites in commemoration of her installation. Following the concert, join us as Rabbi Cosgrove and Cantor Schwartz install Cantor Davis in a heartfelt and spiritual ceremony, followed by an inspiring Selihot service and dessert reception.
