The changes to the exterior of The Qua y will be a subtle evolution of the iconic North Vancouver building. Upgrades include: bold sweeping building graphics coming this spring ; the extension of the Q tower stairs to the main level coming this fall ; fresh additions of our signature red paint ; and new awning systems throughout to highlight entrances. The Quay has always been and will continue to be the place to bring the community and visitors together. Each business at The Quay contributes a unique element, enriching the overall tapestry of offerings available at this iconic destination. Work is well underway with openings starting as early as Spring The renovated Food Hall, features re-designed indoor and outdoor seating and communal tables. Visitors will be able to enjoy a cornucopia of cuisines, and hand-crafted cocktails, driven by the knowledge and passion of local chefs in a unique and vibrant setting perfect for all ages.

For the last 35 years, its rotating Q has been an icon of the North Shore. Quay North Urban Development, the company that owns the Quay, is starting renovations, inside and out. Outside, the exterior cosmetic steelwork will be removed and replaced with something of a higher design standard although Mathiesen said it will reflect the industrial and waterfront character of the market. The plans also include a licensed bar and live entertainment space. The largest individual component is a new two-floor, 10,square-foot restaurant space on the waterfront side of the building. The market will be staying open later at night, and management is bringing in arts and culture programming.
