The unit is a hds 7 touch and the gps has stopped working. The unit has not been updated in a few years, would that possibly fix the problem if I updated it? This HDS unit probably needs a software fix for the gps rollover change. A lot of the Lowrance units do. Can always add an external gps through nmea network. How is that done? Thanks for the advice? It could take a little time for the unit to find the satellites after the new software is loaded on I did mine and it corrected the time after I was on the lake for a few minutes. I have an Elite 5 that I use for ice fishing and the GPS works but the time and date are wrong after the rollover.
