Lucy Quinzel is the daughter of Harley Quinn and the Joker, lucy quinzel. Getting pregnant sometime in her career as a Gotham criminal before the Joker's attack on Superman, Harley went into hiding for a year, not wanting the Joker to discover he was a father. Leaving the newborn baby Lucy with her sister, Harley returned to Gotham only to realize that not only did the Joker not realize she was pregnant, he didn't even care to notice she left at all. Years later, lucy quinzel, after the fall of Superman's regime, Lucy was tracked down and kidnapped by the League of Assassins as a way to keep Harley in lucy quinzel as part of their Suicide Squad.

Harleen Quinzel engaged in sexual intercourse with Joker while he was incarcerated. After learning of the pregnancy, Harleen asked Joker to take her with him during his next escape. He did so, taking her as hostage. Joker apparently had plans to dispose of Harleen as she was a liability. However, Harleen told Joker that she was pregnant with his child and his demeanor changed. Joker spared Harleen's life. While Joker was fulfilling a contract with Ra's al Ghul , the Joker's pregnant lover was kept imprisoned in the Joker's lair and subjected to psychological torture.
