Maka albarn
The Many Expressions of Anime Faces.
The Soul Eater manga and anime series features an extensive cast of fictional characters created by Atsushi Ohkubo. It is set in a fictional universe inhabited by various characters capable of using supernatural powers by channeling the wavelengths of their souls. Most of the characters in the series, including the main protagonists , are classified into two groups: humans who are born with the power to turn into weapons, called "demon weapons", and the wielders of these weapons, called "meisters". DWMA is run by Shinigami , also known as Death , or the Grim Reaper, as a training facility for weapons and meisters to hone their powers, as well as an organization to preserve world order against anyone who threatens it, including witches , monsters and kishin , which are essentially humans who become monstrous creatures by devouring the souls of innocent people. These three teams and their fellow students act as field agents for their school, reaping the souls of evil humans to prevent them from turning into kishin. If you can help us with this wiki please sign up and help us! Maka Albarn is the main protagonist of the manga and anime series Soul Eater. Her weapon partner is Soul Evans and she wants to become a better Meister just like her mother and strives to make Soul into a Death Scythe. Throughout her childhood, Maka became displeased with her father's behavior as he cheated on his wife, which led to a strain between the two. Maka follows in her mother's footsteps and aspires to be one of Shibusen's top students and to collect 99 Evil human souls Kishin eggs in the anime and one witch soul to create a Death Scythe, which she hopes will be more powerful then her own father. Her primary outfit is a typical schoolgirl outfit and a trench coat with a cloak-like end that constantly alters its shape in various parts of both the manga and anime , a white blouse with a yellow sweater vest, a green striped tie, a red plaid skirt, and black boots with white buckles. When using Soul, she usually wears white gloves. She has large forest green eyes and ash blonde hair which she keeps in pigtails, although there are certain times at her home where she will wear them in buns or straight down or sometimes styled on formal occasions. At some point between first partnering with Soul and meeting Tsugumi Harudori, Maka had dressed in a Shibusen uniform similar to Tsugumi, which she has worn in other original artwork featured in the manga. When not in class, such as when at her apartment, Maka frequently wears a hoodie sweater and pants. When she began playing basketball, she wore sweatpants and a hoodie sweater; she also inherited a baseball cap from Patty Thompson, which she gave to Maka to wear as captain of their basketball team with Black Star for the bet that they lost. Near the end of the manga, Maka changes from her Spartoi outfit back to her original black coat, red skirt, and black boots. She decides to change back into her old clothes to show she is no longer a member of Spartoi.
Maka follows in her mother's footsteps and aspires to be one of Shibusen's maka albarn students and to collect 99 Evil human souls Kishin eggs in the anime and one witch soul to create a Death Scythe, which she hopes will be more powerful then her own father. Marie objects, telling them that becoming a Death Scythe is not something so simple, maka albarn.
However, even pitted against a tenacious descendent of a long line of assassins and the son of Death himself, Maka Albarn stands out as uniquely impressive. Plenty of her skills come from her tenacious attitude and no-nonsense approach to achieving her goals, but her success is aided by the biological abilities she's either honed since birth or earned throughout the course of her adventures. Souls play a large role when engaging in battle against demons and witches, and as such come with a wide range of benefits and advantages. Maka possesses a rare winged soul called a Grigori, which grants the bearer the ability to take flight so long as they are given the proper medium. As a soul that only surfaces in one person out of fifty million, there have been various approaches in how Grigori users channel their flying abilities, with weapons manifesting wings while in their weapon form and meisters having to make do by soul resonating with their partners. Maka uses the latter approach, though it requires her partner Soul to have become powerful enough to channel the needed magical power. First introduced with the character Crona, a Meister who has weaponized their own blood, Black Blood is a powerful tool that comes with intense side effects.
Maka's fighting style with a scythe was given for it's uniqueness and resisted drawing influences from other people regarding his main protagonists, inlcuding Maka. Maka's surname, Albarn, may be an allusion to Damon Albarn, a musician of the British group Blur and co-creator of the virtual band Gorillaz, including the singing voice for Gorillaz's lead singer 2D. This is one of many musical allusions that Atsushi Ohkubo includes in the manga. Maka is bright, cheerful, direct, confident, smart, and hardworking, in stark contrast to her partner Soul Eater , who is very laid-back, more likely to act on impulse, and impatient in comparison. She achieves many great accomplishments throughout the series, and she always wants to help others and do the right things, thus she is well respected. She is also known to follow the rules of the DWMA and rarely breaks them, even going so far as to not kill Gopher despite his attempt on her life. It's been stated by multiple people like her own father that many of her good qualities come from her mother and even possess a mindset in which once she starts, barely anything stops her. Despite this, Maka herself possesses flaws and insecurities. She has been noted by her partner to be stubborn and gloomy and is sometimes prone to make decisions without regarding others' feelings if she feels justified enough.

From its colorfully dark-yet-playful setting to its wide cast of uniquely memorable characters, there's a lot about Soul Eater that seems to resonate with fans to this day. The characters' struggles, insecurities and flaws are all wonderfully written, and this rings especially true in the case of the series' titular heroine, Maka Albarn. She's an exceptional scythe meister set to not only follow in her mothers' footsteps, but even exceed them as well. Despite this, though, she still manages to have realistically written flaws that tie-in to her best points. For example, she believes she's exceptionally talented, which causes her to ignore advice from and butt heads with others, even when she's in the wrong. Given what a popular character she is and how much time the show spends focusing on her, it's no wonder that there are tidbits about her that most might not have picked up on.

Maka then attends the ceremony announcing Kid's replacement as the Shinigami in place of Death. She is carefree and absent-minded, and easily gets lost in the basement of DWMA with her poor sense of direction. September 15, It is here revealed that Maka was actually the one who secretly took out the Level 4 book from the Library, which was the Book of Eibon manuscript that Death the Kid thought was originally stolen by Medusa. She notices the weapon, Ragnarok , making it's entrance from inside Crona and watches from utter surprise at the sight. They are then told their souls must be synchronized in order to complete the task. Sid relents and says that is was Stein who had made him into a zombie, but refuses to tell them where he is. Maka also chops her father. March 9, However, Maka leaves some food behind from the buffet for Soul. In the anime only, in the last episode, the Kishin inferred that Maka actually has weapon blood, due to her father, but chose to be a meister. Death the Kid asks Maka and Soul to help the two, and Maka is surprised as they activate the Insanity Wavelength in them.

Maka, along with Soul, watches the battle between Justin and Giriko. She usually kicks Soul after he does something perverted or if he and Blair have been acting too friendly. Soul plays his piano to facilitate the transmission of Maka's Wavelength and is successful in freeing everyone. Marie calls Maka an angel at one point, which awakens Maka's desire to become like one, much to Soul's annoyance. However, because of Maka's soul being that of a Grigori rather than a human, its appearance changes vastly depending on whether or not she's resonating with Soul. After passing by her own soul and her partner's soul, she sees Crona's soul. Though they are mostly used to match with their partners when fighting in battle or attempting to pull off powerful moves, some wavelengths can come with additional benefits. This is shown more in the anime, when Maka becomes frustrated whether or not to follow Shibusen, or go and help Crona and Marie save Stein. Luckily, Soul comes up with the idea of Chain Resonance and augmenting it with his music. She then runs off to find them. In the main series manga, Kim's identity is exposed by Medusa , causing her and Jacqueline flee DWMA together and reluctantly join Arachnophobia for protection. Maka enters Crona's room to get them out.
