Founded by Helena Paul, Mare Perpetua is designed to bring a sense of ease and comfort through escapism. This swimwear label is designed to inspire confidence through recycled materials and thoughtful styles. Read how Helena brings each piece back to her roots. In the summertime and most of the year, I crave to be by the ocean and to be in the sun. So when it came to creating the line, I had many goals and many necessities in mind. I wanted swimwear to be luxurious and beautiful, yet still attainable for many people and of course to be as sustainable as it could possibly be. After attending Ecole Lesage in Paris, a school for haute couture embroidery, I could really see different aspects coming into swimwear and this is where one can see the use of genuine sterling silver scrap pieces and hopefully more unique elements added into future Mare pieces. From the beginning, I focused primarily on construction.
