Marie Wallin is a British fibre artist and fashion designer known for her colourful fair isle designs. After working as a head designer for Rowan yarn company for many years, she became a freelance knitwear designer, marie wallin. Wallin got a first class degree in textiles at Leicester Polytechnic, now DeMontfort Marie wallin in Her final collection was inspired by artist Piet Mondrian.

Marie Wallin offers a tasteful and modern twist on traditional and Fair Isle knits and crochet projects using her specially developed British Breeds yarn. Her stunning collection of designs for garments and accessories are presented in beautiful softback books, all of which include inspiring photographs and detailed pattern charts. Each book takes its inspiration from numerous sources including eastern European folk art, Far East textile and carpet design, and Moorish ornamental design. Marie then works these motifs into enchanting, wearable designs. The majority of Marie's garments are knitted flat, yet she also caters for those wishing to work the pieces in the round. Thoughtfully, each book also provides access to a downloadable PDF version so that you can enlarge charts without having to spoil the printed book s.

Knitting Buddies. Wallin grew up in an artistic family and was taught to draw and paint by her father as a child. While recovering from a health crisis, Marie went on to launch her own yarn line British Breeds and continues to publish pattern books featuring new designs with her British Breeds yarn.
