Omówione zostały podstawowe funkcje służące do definiowania systemów dynamicznych w MATLABie, ich analiza i możliwość badania odpowiedzi na różne wymuszenia. Przedstawiono także sposoby na uzyskanie typowych parametrów, takich jak czas narastania czy wartość ustalona. Przedstawiono zasady pracy z graficznym narzędziem SISOTool służącym do projektowania regulatorów zarówno "ręcznie", jak i automatycznymi metodami strojenia oraz poprzez optymalizację. Następnie pokazano metody pracy z obiektami nieliniowymi w środowisku Simulink. Skupiono się na dwóch zagadnieniach: znajdowaniu punktów równowagi oraz linearyzacji układu. Otrzymane efekty pozwalają na znalezienie parametrów regulatora przy pomocy narzędzi poznanych wcześniej w środowisku MATLAB.
