Welcome to whimsical Mediterranean nights in Bulimba. Inspired by the cobbled streets, trattorias and summery verandas so unique to this sunny corner of Europe, Mina Italian isn't short of charm and beauty. Located on the far end of Oxford Street, Mina Italian still enjoys the atmosphere of Brisbane's party district whilst also being slightly removed from rowdy revelry. The long, narrow restaurant enjoys an optimistic colour palette of yellow, brown and white that creates a rustic warmth during the day. As the sun goes down, the festoon lights illuminate the cosy terrace, made all the more magical with local musical talent that graces Mina Italian many nights of the week. Pizza lovers rejoice, Mina Italian's wood-fired oven is hard at work firing up thin, crispy doughs topped with classic combinations. Lying atop house-made tomato sauce, you can find local smoked ham, mushrooms, pancetta, Italian sausage, prosciutto di Parma and spicy salami. Fior di latte brings forth an irresistible creaminess, making the perfect backdrop for countless fresh veggies and a generous sprinkling of fragrant basil. The Italian kitchen is also renowned for its meat dishes, and Mina Italian is no different. With the likes of steak florentine, free-range chicken wrapped in prosciutto and slow-cooked pork belly on the menu, this is where the cuisine really shines. As for fresh pasta, have your fill of squid ink spaghetti, gooey gnocchi and Tasmanian lamb ragu. No one loves Italy quite like Mina. Middle Eastern, Mediterranean.
Mexican, Brunch, Street Food. First impressions implied existential crisis.
Going Out Restaurants. I realised recently that Italian food is the closest thing I have to religion. Conjuring memories of a long ago summer lunch in Cinque Terre, I boarded the Tube anticipating basil pesto as green as the District line. First impressions implied existential crisis. Rock anthems blasted as diners tucked into green tea guinea fowl and kombucha chicken, and the wine list, though skewed towards the artisanal, felt overly long and international — I suspect a snappier Italian edit would work better. Now, a menu with so many food restrictions inevitably leaves a limited toolkit of ingredients with which to supplement textures and flavours. Ardiciocca therefore leans heavily on pickling and fermenting.
A beautiful warm welcome from our Spanish waitress, guided us to the coolest table inside on a very hot Brisbane afternoon. She took our drinks orders and left us to decide on the food. A modest menu of not too many and not too few The descriptive prose will have you salivating. The food was divine, the staff friendly, beautiful clean restaurant. What a lovely new find. We will be back!! Lovely quaint little Italian restaurant, new to Bulimba Brisbane. This spot has both indoor and outdoor seating. I would recommend the inside space.
