When Mortal Kombat X , the tenth main installment of the Mortal Kombat video game series, came out in Spring , it actually shook up a lot of conventions. The story felt a little more fleshed out, the characters were now able to move forward, and a new generation of Mortal Kombatants would rise up. Even though he may not look like much at first glance, there is actually a lot more to him than most would actually think. Kenshi Takahashi, the blindfolded swordsmen, has been a mainstay of the Mortal Kombat universe ever since he made his debut in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Many of the classic characters have offspring in Mortal Kombat X that are now fighters and Kenshi is no exception. It is also revealed that Takeda is Kenshi's son, whom he had with his lover Suchin, who is sadly dead at the time the game takes place. This is possibly the most easily missed factoid of the list, but if you put in the time to search for it, you'll find a sad end to Takeda's relationship with his father. Takeda's relationship with his father was mended by the end of Mortal Kombat X, as it had been frayed due to Takeda being abandoned by Kenshi. Sadly, if Mortal Kombat 11's Krypt is any indication, they seemingly didn't get much time to bond. If you search through The Krypt in Mortal Kombat 11 , you'll eventually come across the corpse of Kenshi. Scorpion is the most famous member of the Mortal Kombat cast of characters, so having been under his tutelage is a pretty nice feather for Takeda's cap.

Takahashi Takeda is the son of the hero Kenshi and a young Thai-American woman named Suchin, whom Kenshi met during his travels. Takashi Takeda is a character in Mortal Kombat X. He was announced via the February 27th Story Trailer. Takashi is the son of series regular, Kenshi. Trained in the ways of the Shirai Ryu, under the tutelage of Hanzo Hasashi, also known as Scorpion , Takeda is adept at using swords and whips in battle. Whip It Good - Takeda draws his whips, cracks them twice at his opponent, cutting off their arms, then impales them through the mouth with his whip. With a grin, he activates the serrated edges of his whips, hooking his opponent's spine and then drags it out through his opponent's mouth.

As Egc pointed out, Takeda has good mix-ups and great reach, but has slow normals, which can be a problem. However, his F3 is a very good attack to get off some quick and easy damage, and in his Shirai Ryu variation, he has a BF1 attack which hits quite fast as well as an aerial DB1 attack which hits overhead, and can really screw with your opponent's mind. Takeda was trained by Scorpion and the Shirai Ryu so many of his attacks will remind you of Scorpion, especially if you use the Shirai Ryu variation. However, no matter which variation you choose, Takeda is a long-range fighter first and foremost. Use combos and throws to knock the opponent away and then continue to assault them from a distance.
