Modus 105
Bax Nebraska. I was just fitted for the Ts irons with the Nippon Modus shafts. Trying to decide between the regular and stiff modus 105 which there is only 3.
I got a line on an original set of PXG 's, which come with this upgraded shaft. I have been using S's for 40 years, and they are starting to get a little heavy for me I am not overly concerned about the weight of the Nippon , as I am the stiffness of the tip. I do not play very often, and do not want my misses to feel harsh with this shaft. Any knowledge of this shaft and how the tip may compare to the S would greatly be appreciated Drivingrangehero 2 posts. Joe Mannix 2 posts.

The Nippon Modus 3 Tour shaft expands the Modus line to fit golfers who prefer lighter weight shafts. Extremely smooth feel and consistent performance. When I was first introduced to the Modus 3 Tour , I assumed that it was a shaft designed only to bring Modus quality to players who need lighter shafts. I was surprised to learn, however, that the Tour trails only the Tour in terms of play on tour. Once I tried the Tour , it was easy to understand why. Even when I tried this shaft in an X-flex, getting it to load and kick was effortless. The trade off for that kind of feel is usually consistency, but no such sacrifice is required here. The Tour did the same thing swing after swing whether I tried to stand on it or just made an easy pass at the ball. That said, if I was ever forced to play a lighter shaft, it would likely be the Nippon Modus 3 Tour When I put this into my testing irons, I found them to be so easy to swing. Though I was missing roughly 20 grams, the balance was so good that the transition was easy to make.

Would the same be true of a Nippon shaft that none of us had much experience with? Namely, the Nippon Modus This is something we sorely wanted to figure out so we took the Nippon Modus shafts out to the course to test them. Take a look at what we found out…. One thing that should probably be mentioned is that the Nippon Modus shafts are among the most-used in professional Tours around the world. When we researched the Nippon Modus and found all this out, we were expecting a stout, heavy shaft that would be inaccessible to most of our testers. This intimate us. However, when we received the Nippon Modus shafts, we were quite surprised. The heaviest Nippon Modus shaft weighs in at just grams.
