Gerd Waloszek. Places Calendars Art. After a first test of different multi-frame recording methods had not shown any advantages for these methods see page Test Photos of the Moon with RX10 M4 - July , I wanted to test the MFNR method once again, because I had not used it optimally in the first test. This time, as with the "normal" shots, I set the ISO value to I also varied the level of noise reduction, at least partially. With "Normal" noise reduction 4 shots are taken, with "High" noise even 12 shots. In the following, I will present some selected sample photos the sharpest from the series listed above.

M ulti-frame noise reduction helps to reduce picture noise by building up exposure and allow larger ISO numbers to be selected than the normal maximum ISO sensitivity. When shooting with high ISO sensitivity, the product reduces noise that becomes more noticeable when the product sensitivity is high. A message may be displayed during noise reduction processing; you cannot shoot another image until the message disappears. In the A mode you have control of the lens aperture and can influence depth of field DOF. Just remember that the camera will choose a faster or slower shutter speed depending on your selected aperture. The S mode gives you the control to freeze or blur action depending on the shutter speed you select. ISO determines the sensitivity of the camera sensor to light. A higher ISO number increases the sensitivity; this means that less light is needed to produce a correct exposure. A lower ISO number decreases the sensitivity and requires more light to produce a correct exposure. This function is effective for shooting moving subjects. The product automatically shoots multiple images continuously, combines them, reduces the noise, and records them as one image. The image recorded is one combined image. This filter is applied after you take the shot, slowing your capture rate. In fact, using the High or MultiShot setting reduces the maximum frame rate shots per second. How does the Sony A55 work?
It's not a low light shot, so is unlikely to benefit from techniques for low light.
There's also a separate Multi-frame Noise Reduction option which combines several frames to average out noise. See for yourself how the four noise reduction settings work under daylight-balanced lighting. Click on any of the crops below to see the corresponding full-sized image. Sony says noise reduction is not applied to RAW files. Clearly, the Off setting is not really off, as is often the case. It's also interesting that the Off setting smears our red leaf cloth much more than the Low and Normal settings, though chroma and luminance noise is higher.
This function is effective for shooting moving subjects. You can minimize subject blurring while also preventing camera shake. JavaScript is disabled. Please enable JavaScript and reload the page. STD Standard : The camera automatically sets the shutter speed based on the focal length of the lens. In the following situations, the shutter speed may not function as set: When the maximum shutter speed has changed based on the aperture or the [ Shutter Type] setting. When using the flash to shoot bright scenes with the [ Shutter Type] set to [Electronic Shut. When using the flash to shoot dark scenes with the [Flash Mode] set to [Fill-flash] or [Wireless]. The minimum shutter speed is limited to the speed automatically determined by the camera.

Besides the advanced customizable autofocus functions find the guide here , The Sony A77 II has some more hidden features and functions that you might want to familiarize yourself with. This modes uses a fixed fast aperture camera does not change the aperture during shooting and allows you to shoot images continuously at high speed. This way, you can switch from wide mode to the center your subject and follow technique during shooting.

Stacking multiple frames will help reduce that noise and also allow better detail retention with hot-pixel removal. The camera then takes a rapid burst of images all at that ISO all images at the same ISO regardless of option chosen and stacks them, computing noise reduction based on comparison. That's an interesting idea. The product automatically shoots multiple images continuously, combines them, reduces the noise, and records them as one image. That's a very nice shot of the Heron. That leads to B. Why you continually proclaim to have nothing against me its just senseless. I therefore took a few shots with the natural light which was actually candles in jars hanging from tree's. A higher ISO number increases the sensitivity; this means that less light is needed to produce a correct exposure. Zekewhipper 11 years ago. If it were not the internet that would clearly be the case. I've tried to research this on line but have not been able to get these specific questions clarified, so I'd really appreciate any help! As for the landscape a Ultra Wide Angle lens in my experience is a great one to have for night skies.
Sensitivity to light is expressed by the ISO number recommended exposure index. The larger the number, the higher the sensitivity. JavaScript is disabled.
Without blabbing on about unnecessary atmospheric conditions that lets face it, is not what your asking, I would say a good mm lens would help get a bit more detail of the moon. Now aren't we saying the same thing? Turtles06 Posted September 17, Unfortunately the focal length of three of the four presented samples "slipped" from mm to mm. Combine an SLT with a lens than has an in lens motor, and it's an excellent combo for nature photography, you'll get more shots off before wildlife may be spooked not to mention higher FPS option when needed on many models. But pretty extreme conditions. Overall, the Normal setting provides a pretty good balance between noise and detail, but you'll want to shoot in RAW mode for maximum control over the noise versus detail trade-off. I will try to upload them if you want to have a loo. I would rather have Olympus'. Not even an accusation Having the right gear is as important as knowing when the environmental conditions are going to be the best for the type of shot you want to take. The picture, well I couldn't see in the dark but the picture showed how much of a slob I was, it was impressievly bright and in-focus. There is no wrong way, just one method may be more suitable in one situatioin, more than another. Test Photos Tripod All photos are cropped to x pixels, but display all the pixels of the moon, thus, they are not scaled when viewed on a retina screen. Edited by WaltKnapp member 12 years ago.
Willingly I accept.
