To some of MyHouse. There are two reasons for this: the technology and the people.
Doom is old now, and it follows that even as fresh new blood joins in, the community has gotten old as well. Which brings us to MyHouse, a lightly remastered version of a childhood project, restored by a friend of its recently-deceased author in their honor. Somehow, this modest shard of history, this newbie wad by an outsider, grabbed a lot of attention for inadvertently bringing together so many pieces of what this community is, and has become… and more importantly, how it came together. As much as we all start with grand visions of making massive map TC masterpieces, our lack of grip on the fundamentals forced most of us — especially in the innocence of the mids — to start by recreating the places we knew best. The local mall. Our homes.

Excited to finally release this tribute map. Last August I lost a good childhood friend of mine and took it pretty hard. When I was visiting my hometown for his funeral, I connected with his parents who shared with me some of his old belongings. Among them was a copy of an old map of his backed up on a 3. Thomas and I were into amateur Doom mapping in the early 00s but I had never seen this map of his prior to uncovering it on one of the old floppy discs. As a way of paying tribute to him and all the great memories we had together, I took the plunge and installed Doom Builder in order to polish up his map and add a few modern amenities just for convenience sake. From the text file:. Making maps of your house was all the rage back-in-the-day, but I feel like this is a pretty adorable and detailed tribute to my friend and a great way to share something of him with a community we loved. Miss you, Tom. Download myhouse. Ah, a classic level design theme. I really should do something like this eventually :p.
Alright yall, holy shit.
My House a. Veddge emerged on September 2, , with early screenshots of the map before its release the following year on March 3, having not logged into the Doomworld forums in "over a decade". The map is purported to have been unearthed from an old floppy disk belonging to Veddge's deceased long-time friend Tom who started work on it in It was then improved with UDMF features "for convenience's sake". The map is advertised as "not much of a challenge and roughly 10 minutes of play time", but it has a significant amount of content that can potentially require hours of additional play time to experience in full.
The first mod I ever downloaded was for Skyrim. It replaced NPCs with Shrek. The second was a texture pack for Dark Souls: Remastered. I believe that these two examples form a representative sample of what mods are: quality of life improvements, and Shrek. WAD devs have gone on to become fully-fledged game designers , and some WADs have been released commercially. The breadth and depth of this community formed the bedrock of game developers. And yet even with this pedigree, MyHouse. WAD is a miracle.

Eldritch Location : The titular house itself is this and a bag of chips. Notice that the restroom is out of order. While MyHouse might be the most prominent example of this archetype, each of these projects attempts something uniquely different within the medium of Doom. Found some more stuff, including an area not reached in the previous playthrough. In the same vein, you can very easily avoid the Hellfish in the Bathhouse's pool area, taking the associated artifact near the bottom of the pool and escaping into the nearby hole. And then , there is the discovery of the third floor, in the form of the attic, which there also shouldn't be enough space for. For people that make art, its ability to stand on its own can be terrifying the map has a mind of its own, after all —it can feel wrong, but it can also be connective. In my first playthrough, where I was disoriented and flustered, I thought this was a "switch" that opened the room with the soda can. Use the inside of the station as a safe zone, but beware of monsters crowding round the back entrance, which together with the secondary front entrance door is your only means to leave the inside of the station. I don't know exactly what triggers it or if you can lose it forever.
Doom II fans are eating well right now after discovering an impressively made, creepypasta-like map called MyHouse. The map is being celebrated across social media through Let's Plays , fan art and memes as players discover all the secrets hidden within it. It's just plain wrong in a variety of subtle, unsettling, and uncanny ways. This mod does account for this tendency away from Nightmare! This trope is inverted with a Christmas tree ornament in the attic, which doesn't appear in the house but is visible through the reflection, is your best hint that at least one of the mirrors in the house is a portal to a mirror dimension. For a detailed description of what the Golden Ending requires of you, see either that trope's entry or Ending 3 under Multiple Endings below. This is the only one of the six keys I never found, so I have no idea what's there. I know I'm supposed to find the painting in the living room somehow, now that I have them. This largely featureless gray house is suspended in the middle of a dark liminal apartment complex, and going through certain doorways will change the size of the areas between regular-sized, and large.
