I recently had to get a new pc. I have a hard copy of NFS Most wanted and am trying to re install on my new pc.

But when I installed the same game in windows8 pro pc it installed correctly but when i try to launch the game it shows a message : " No apps are installed to open this type of link Origin ". I want to know that is Origin required to play games on windows 8 pc. Can I play the game without installing origin. I don't know much about this Origin app because the game was working fine on my Windows 7 PC. Please tell me some good methods so that i can play the game.
